STAND UP PADDLE TOUR/LESSON
Of course we have to mention our two amazing Stand Up Paddling experiences in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Join us for a half day or 3/4 day trip where you'll try your hand at Stand Up Paddling in the spectacular Blackwood River National Park.
There's also the option of board hire if you want to go it alone.
CAVES & LIGHTHOUSES
Visiting one of the spectacular caves and a trip up one of the two lighthouses are high on the list of experiences.
Each of the caves has it's own unique drawcard and it's difficult to choose the best cave tour in the Margaret River region. You can marvel at the reflections on Lake Cave’s permanent lake, be dwarfed in Jewel Cave’s enormous chambers and take it easy on the Mammoth Cave self- guided tour. At Yallingup’s Ngilgi Cave (pronounced ‘nilgi‘), you will learn the Aboriginal legend as you look up at limestone shawl formations– or delve deeper into the cave on an adventure tour.
At Cape Leeuwin, Australia’s tallest mainland lighthouse is situated at the most south westerly tip of Australia, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Enjoy a tour to the top at the edge of Australia and learn about shipwrecks, lighthouse building and tales of old.
VISIT BORANUP FOREST
On your journey along Caves Rd, south of Margaret River you will round a bend and be blown away by the majestic Karri Trees of Boranup Forest. The Karri tree is the third tallest tree species in the world, and the forest is a fantastic place to go for a wander, take photos or just take in the beauty. Visitor centre info here. Some options for adventure in the forest are mountain bike tours for sporty types, or electric eco quad bike tours for a more relaxed pace.
VISIT SURFERS POINT & PREVELLY
Surfers Point, Prevelly has many different moods. You may arrive to perfect surf, the carpark packed with surfers cars and the famous surf break full of locals taking on the challenging conditions. Or perhaps the ocean is rough and stormy and it's only a few brave people taking on the wind and weather. Be sure to take a jacket as it can be much windier at the coast.
Be sure to check out the Prevelly General Store/Caravan Park for it's great selection of wine. Enjoy a coffee or bit to eat at The White Elephant Cafe at Gnarabup Beach, it's a great place for swimming in the summer or to watch the waves crash in the winter. Stay in the area at one of the great beach houses available for rent.
